Its roots trace back to Coopers & Lybrand, where the local firm Oyediran, Faleye, Oke & Co operated as a parallel indigenous practice with Coopers & Lybrand. However, Oyediran, Faleye, Oke & Co was severed from the umbilical cord binding it to Coopers & Lybrand, effective from July 1, 1998, following the global merger of Coopers & Lybrand with Price Waterhouse. Consequently, Oyediran, Faleye, Oke & Co joined BDO International B.V.

On 26 June 2025, Tax Reforms Bills passed by both houses of National Assembly were signed into law by the President. The new Tax Acts with commencement date of 1 January 2026 are listed below: a) Nigeria Tax Act, 2025 (NTA) b) Nigeria Tax Administration Act (NTAA) c) Nigeria Revenue Service Act (NRSA) d) Joint Revenue Board of Nigeria Establishment Act (JRBEA).
